Guéshé Yongdong
Geshe Yong Dong is one of today's most celebrated young scholar and writer. He is well learnt in all the studies of Bon and all the traditions of Buddhism, Nyingma, Gelug, Kagyu, Sakya, and Jonangpa.
Since his childhood, Geshe Yong Dong has possessed an intellectual opennes to all the fields of education with the innate quality of an altruistic intention and spiritual conduct.
At the age of thirteen, he took monastic vows from his root teacher, the venerable Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. He did deep study on all the ten sciences in many monasteries and monastic universities including Nangshig Bonpo monastic university and the three biggest Buddhist monastic universities of Drepung, Gaden and Sera at Menri Bonpo monastic universities of Drepung, Gaden and Sera, the great monastery Tashi Khel and so on.
He did complete studies consisting of listening, writing, debating and meditating on monastic
Teachings including Abi Dharma, logic Paramita, Madhyamika, Dzogchen. These and other traditional studies including poetry, astrology, lexicography and calligraphy under the greatest and most wel learnt masters and scholars of today such as the great Wako Gyaltsen, the Venerable Bonlob Rinpoche, the great master of the five sciences, Sherab Nyima, the great master of the five sciences, Sherab Nyima, the great master Namkha Tsultrim, the great master Tusue Yeshi Gyamtsen, Geshe Lharampa Tsang Thupten, the great master Bonlop Wako and Geshe Lharampa Tsodue Konpel.
One of the expressions of his extraordinary intellectual talent is that at the age of twenty four, he gained the Rajampa Geshe degree through debating with hundreds of great scholars at Nangshig monastic university including many tantric teachings, such as the Three Buddha lineage's of the mother lineage, Thekdel Melong gukore, Zongchen Namkha Tulzod, Zongchen Tsama Kaldo and Zongchen Shangchung Nyengyid from H.H the Menre Tzin and the great master Bonlop Rinpoche. In order to spend his precious human birth in a more meaningful way, he accomplished the accumulation of the six hundred thousands preliminary practices
Under his root teacher, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. He also received many teachings and empowerment from H.H. the Dalai Lama.
